Our Lamborghini Urus / Audi RS Q8 intercooler set is handcrafted and TIG welded in the USA, ensuring the highest level of craftsmanship and durability that is unmatched anywhere else in the aftermarket. The end tanks are made from in-house CNC machined billet aluminum, making the product look as good as it performs. The billet tanks can handle much higher boost pressures and have much better heat rejection properties when compared to the OEM tanks, which can crack under increased boost pressures.
CSF once again teamed up with leading Southern California VAG specialists, Pacific German from Orange County, CA, to design, develop, and test the new intercooler kit on their very own Lamborghini Urus. While investigating other Lamborghini Uruses, the technicians found that the factory bolt-on plastic charge pipe is sealed with an inner O-Ring. This inner O-ring tends to fail, even within the first few thousand miles of driving, resulting in a check engine light due to boost leaks. On the CSF by PWR intercooler, the plastic charge pipe and O-ring have been replaced with a more robust aluminum pipe, increasing the strength and reliability of the intercooler system.
The core design features a Formula 1-grade dual-row core construction with turbulated tubes and R-fins. This same core design is also utilized in other CSF by PWR core designs like in the Audi RS6/RS7, Porsche 992 Turbo/S, and 991 GT2RS, which have shown incredible results. The turbulators inside the tube create turbulent airflow inside, allowing for a greater heat transfer rate than a hollow tube with laminar flow. The fins used in the core are hemmed & louvered, increasing strength and surface area contact to create even more heat rejection potential. When compared to the OEM intercoolers that are prone to heat soaking, there are roughly double the number of tubes and much smaller fin height, increasing pressure drop but greatly increasing the heat rejection potential. By eliminating the dreaded heat soak factor of the stock intercoolers, our intercoolers unlock a whole new potential for tuning and reliability for your Lamborghini Urus & Audi RS Q8.
Not only does our intercooler set look great with its pristine welds and billet end tanks, but it’s also easy to install! This unit comes with all the necessary hardware, mounting brackets, and utilizes the factory mounting and hoses as well.
The 4.0L twin-turbo V8 in the Urus & RS Q8 starts to experience debilitating heat soak and progressively increasing IATs with the OEM intercoolers. The development of the Urus intercooler kit was no different as CSF worked closely with Autowerks Asia out of Bangkok, Thailand. Autowerks Asia is one of Thailand’s biggest tuners and is responsible for some of the wildest builds in Southeast Asia right now. They have worked closely with CSF before on the Porsche 992 Carrera Intercooler kit.
The car in question was the real deal, a “Stage 3” Urus sporting upgraded TTE888 EA825 Turbos, Supersprint downpipes, Akrapovič Exhaust, McChip DKR Tuning, and the CSF by PWR High-Performance Intercoolers. With this full “Stage 3” package, the Urus produced 836whp and 1031Nm (760 ft-lbs) of torque – a massive gain over the stock baseline numbers of ~650whp and ~825Nm (~608 ft-lbs) of torque. As impressive as these gains are, what’s even better is the ability that the cooler has to consistently output that kind of power and maintain consistent intake air temps! This is due to the intercooler’s extensive engineering and its resistance to heat soaking over the stock intercooler – a trait that is commonly overlooked but extremely valuable on the track and during long tuning sessions. The bottom line is that there’s no power loss due to heat soak, which is invaluable to track cars and fast street cars.
