The Opportunity:

This is a great opportunity to join our Indianapolis team as TIG Welder. This role will be responsible for fitting and welding aluminum parts using the TIG (GTAW) welding process. Qualified applicants are expected to have experience with welding and working with basic tools, warehouse equipment and manufacturing machinery.  The ideal candidate will display a willingness to learn and work to the best of their ability as well as possess a dependable work ethic with knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Core Responsibilities:

  • TIG weld aluminum components based on the specifications of the blueprints, and/or drawings
  • Set up welding machines and fixturing based on the job at hand or using a Welding Procedure Specification
  • Read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine specific welding requirements
  • Keep work areas clean and organized, taking proper care of all equipment and facilities
  • Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
  • Follow all safety rules and quality standards
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry up to 70 pounds, bend, squat and lift repeatedly, good eyesight and hearing for safe machine operation
  • Exposure to noise, oils, smoke and griding dust incidental to manufacturing processes
  • Exposure to chips, tools and materials that can cause cuts and other injuries if improperly handled

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Vocational training, technical certificate
  • Welding experience (through school certification and/or work history)
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs and uses.
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, calipers, tape measure and angle.
  • Positive attitude
  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U. S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. PWR will require proof of status prior to employment.
